Press Release
Advanced A-dec Simulator to Help Ease Students' Transition from Lab to Clinic
Newberg, Ore. - February 23, 2010
A-dec proudly announces the introduction of its new A-dec Simulator, a complete learning solution for the preclinical dental school environment. Available to institutions around the world, the A-dec Simulator helps learners retain core competencies by replicating the spatial dynamics of a clinical setting.
Because of how each simulator combines a delivery system with an adjustable oral cavity, each student is able to build skills and adopt best practices within a controlled learning-lab environment. The robust design of the A-dec Simulator includes the operability of air-turbine and electric handpieces, ultrasonic instruments, curing lights, and cameras to help learners practice a full range of ergonomically-correct tooth preparation and application procedures.
To accommodate a wide range of classroom configuration or multi-use learning labs, the A-dec Simulator is offered in stationary (42L) and mobile (41L) units. Both options are the result of the same intensive dental-community input, instructor insight, and advanced design and manufacturing standards. Either configuration can be specified to include student-centric features such as one-on-one monitor mount, shelf, and lockable storage, while the "instructor control center" can be equipped with duplex outlet and network connections for unlimited multi-media capabilities.
As a pioneer in supporting higher education, A-dec products are currently serving thousands of students in 80 countries. And 90% of dental schools across the U.S. and Canada feature precursors to the new A-dec 42L and 41L.
